How To Go Out Green
The general structure:
Early planning is always better but things can be figured out quickly when needed too.
Contact Lotus and Lavender Burial, take a tour, get a sense of the general area you’d like to be on the property, sign paperwork and purchase the burial rights, and decide on a burial container and grave marker.
Ideally between this time and “the time”, you’ll return to Lotus and Lavender Burial, enjoy the natural space, maybe help maintain some trails, feel a connection to the earth that you’ll return to. Some people like to spend time with other loved ones at their green burial cemetery to have nice memories there together.
When the time comes, we’ll coordinate either our funeral home collaborators or a funeral home of your choice to complete paperwork, utilize their refrigeration capabilities, and transport the body to our property.
We’ll work with you to design the burial service you desire, working with individuals you choose and/or offering the collaborators we know. This will happen all four seasons.
Live flowers will be available for the burial ceremony, as well as dried flowers when live aren’t actively growing.
We hope to have a space on the property to host memorials and have collaborators in mind to cater the gatherings.
Now your loved ones can return to mourn, remember and appreciate this swirl of life, death and nature.
We’ll update this list as things continue to evolve and get clarified. Stay tuned.
